Nerd Moment

I’m editing something awesome for a friend in my free time, and the way words are misspelled are the way geniuses misspell words. I’m in seventh heaven.

For example, recently I had to correct a word back to “disintegrated,” then eventually to just plain “vanished.” Someone disappears in mid-air, and the closest common-use word to what the author had written was disintegrated. But then the closest in meaning was vanished. So that’s what I edited it to.

But, dude. The original word was so much better. It was “disincarnated.”

  1. I love English. We can do so many interesting things with it. “Disincarnated” is immediately understandable. Who knows but it may eventually enter the common vocabulary and then into Webster’s.

What do you think?
